Many men and women find the task of regular waxing, shaving and even hair removal creams a time consuming and never ending process. As a result, many of us are turning towards looking at more permanent ways of removing unwanted hair.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Laser Hair Removal treatments are becoming increasingly popular. IPL is the latest technology for safe and effective and affordable permanent hair removal. It is a new, advanced and effective method which gently breaks down hair, therefore removing unwanted hair on many parts of the body, giving you the lasting confidence and freedom of being hair free.
What is IPL
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair with the light from the system. The IPL system produces a high intensity flash of filtered light from the applicator head, which has been placed in contact with the skin. The energy from the light source is then absorbed by the pigment melanin. Upon absorption the light is converted into heat which then breaks down the hair follicle making them incapable of producing further hair growth.
Number of Hair Removal Treatments
Hair grows in different cycles therefore the number of treatments required can vary. All hair removal systems will only effectively remove hair during its growth phase. Therefore, we would recommend a course of at least 6 treatments ensuring that you leave between 4-6 weeks between each session. This can all be discussed with you at your consultation.
Preparing for IPL treatment
- Please ensure the area has been shaved a day before the treatment is carried out
- It is recommended that you do not undergo any other hair removal treatments at least 4 weeks before the treatment or during the course of the treatments
- It is recommended that you do not undergo any fake tanning treatments prior to treatment
